Updated Health and Wellness Protocols

In January 2024, we modified our approach to Temple health and wellness. Here are our current protocols:

• Our in-person ritual services are open to all people of integrity.
• All are required to complete an online Health Check Questionnaire on the day of ritual and before arrival at the Temple. Please carefully read the instructions sent to you for each ritual as the deadline to complete the survey will not be the same for each rite.
• All are required to sign a one-time liability waiver and a one-time media waiver (if not already on file).
• If you are feeling ill or showing any signs of cold, flu, RSV, Covid, or another illness—or if you have been exposed to someone who is ill—please remain at home.
• Masking is always permitted and welcome without judgement.
• We continue to encourage you to take care of yourself through remaining current with the vaccinations recommended by your personal medical professionals.
• We will not pass a shared chalice for our Cakes & Ale ceremony.
• We will not share a feast after our rites, or provide washables such as glasses, mugs, plates, silverware, etc. 
• When the ritual service concludes, we request that you stay within the gentle flow of sacred energies while mindfully collecting all of your belongings, and honor our time together by exiting the shared space. Since we do not offer a social hour, you are encouraged to gather with one another elsewhere if you feel so called.

Please note that we reserve the right to make changes and updates to our policies at any time and without notice.

Dear Ones, we thank you in advance for your kind understanding and request that you please follow all of these guidelines whenever you come to the Temple. There will be no exceptions made at this time. Please do not put your Belladonna Sisters in a position where they have to turn you away at the Sanctuary door.

As our Tradition nears the end of our 14th Wheel together, here is my annual share about the pathway to the honor and responsibility of Initiation in our Sisterhood of the Moon Tradition of Witchcraft, both as a Witch and as a Priestess. 

Do note that most every question you may have about our community is answered on our Sisterhood of the Moon website and on The Women’s Mystery School of Magick & Empowerment website—please use these sites as the incredible resources they are. Please know that your High Priestesses strive to share information in a transparent way that empowers everyone to first seek answers for themselves before coming to us. 

Know that your question has most likely been lovingly answered already. If after searching you still haven’t found the answer to your question or concern, please reach out—we are always here for you.

Sisterhood of the Moon Tradition Witch Initiation

An Initiation Candidate must have successfully completed the entire 13-Moon curriculum of The Women’s Mystery School of Magick and Empowerment, our online, in-depth magickal training program. 

Detailed information about this rigorous—and powerful—journey can be found here. If you wish to enroll, please follow all of the steps outlined on this page.

All Sisterhood of the Moon women are encouraged to take this sacred journey, whether seeking Initiation or not. This course of study is the foundation for all of the magickal and ritual work done within our Sisterhood community and Tradition. 

All in-person Witch Initiations are bestowed once per year at our Annual Imbolc High Holyday Rite of Dedication & Initiation. For those who do not live in the Bay Area or cannot be present at this rite, Initiation is transmitted through a two-part astral ritual.

Sisterhood of the Moon Priestess Ordination

Our first Priestess Voyage set sail in 2022! Blessed be! This path of training towards Sisterhood of the Moon Priestess Ordination is offered as a cohort-style program.

Successful completion of the Mystery School and Initiation as a Sisterhood Witch are the prerequisites for applying to join our Sisterhood of the Moon Priestess Training Voyage.

This three-Spiral program unfolds over three-plus years—which includes time for integration, rest, and renewal. 

If you are interested in viewing the information shared in June 2021—before our first Voyage departed—you can find that recording here. Updated information will be shared when the application portal reopens. (Please note: The departure of our second Priestess Voyage has not yet been scheduled.)

Sisters who successfully complete this three-Spiral journey will be eligible to receive Sisterhood of the Moon Tradition Priestess Ordination and/or Dianic Clergy status. 

High Priestess Ordination

Sisterhood of the Moon and Dianic *High Priestess* Ordinations generally require an additional six or more years of service and study and are transmitted at my sole discretion as our Founding Lineage Holder—these honors are not guaranteed. For reference, ten years of study and practice are an approximate equivalent of the amount of time it takes to earn a bachelor’s degree plus a PhD.

I am deeply committed to turning out exceptional Priestesses devoted to service in Her name, women who know who they are, why they are in service, and understand the ins and outs of modern priestessing, including the “mundane” administrative aspects of this vocation. It is important that all Ordained Priestesses have the tools to be successful in whichever realm of priestessing they choose to enter.

It is my honor to offer coven-style Priestess training built upon my 35+ years of Witchcraft practice and over 25+ years of dedicated public Priestess service.

Winter Respite Begins!

Beloved Spiritual Family,

Beginning on Winter Solstice, Sisterhood of the Moon will be closed for our annual Winter Respite.

Your High Priestesses will joyfully return to email on January 18th, 2024.

We are so very grateful for the beautiful calendar year we spent with you, Dear Ones. Through the wisdom of She of Infinite Names, we learned together, we cried together, we laughed together, we practiced big magick together, and we changed the world together. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Let us continue to together surrender to the flow of *What Is*…and listen to the wisdom that is now arising for our shared Path ahead. 

Let us all take this incubation time to rest and integrate all of 2023’s lessons, Beloveds, both personally and collectively. Let us refill our sacred wells, renew our Sweet Selves, and make space for Brigid’s bright new fires of inspiration to spark for our community. 

After December 21st, it is our loving request that you hold all correspondence for the Priestesses until our return to the realm of email on January 18th, 2024.

We encourage you to take time to deepen your solitary practice and contemplate that which has transformed, that which needs to be consigned to the compost heap, and that which is pushing to be born.

Please create holy time to go Within, to allow space for the messages that are percolating to rise into consciousness, and to dive deeply into the inner magick and work that needs your attention. Look to where your energies are going and where your gratitude is placed, and if you are best served by this flow. 

What do you willingly choose to take with you into the next Sisterhood year? What is best left behind, re-Visioned, or completely closed down? 

Our Astral Temple is open to you, always. Join our Solar Tribe Astral Collective in Yuletide green magick and join our Lunar Rites Alchemical Network in honoring the sacredness of both Dark and Light through a candle magick ritual. These offerings are to be practiced at your own altar, alone or with your chosen family.

May moments of quiet clarity gently guide you into deeper self-understanding and create the space for you to show up for your Sweet Self as lovingly and powerfully as you can in the next year.

Beloved Ones, please take care of you and yours. Please lean into each other, hold each other, and encourage each other.

Our Community’s Summer Respite

Beloved Spiritual Family,

Beginning July 1st, our Goddess Temple is closed for our annual Summer Respite in celebration of our Creatrix’s Month. We invite you to join us in moving gently, slowly, and leisurely throughout this month, in savoring each and every Sun-drenched and Moon-lit moment.

Our 6th Annual Mermaid Pilgrimage! Sisters, join us for a sunset ritual honoring Brizo, Greek Goddess of the Sea, in our Women’s Lunar Rites circle on the beach in Pescadero, CA on Saturday, August 19th. All women and girls are welcome! We gather onsite at 4:30 p.m.; registration will open for this rite on August 5th here.

Dear Spiritual Family,

It is with profound gratitude, elation, and pride that I formally announce that on the evening of Saturday, June 24th, under the Waxing Crescent Moon in Virgo and the Cancerian Sun, StephCrow and BearClawLionHeart crossed the threshold and became Priestess-Initiates-in-Training.

This rite marked the ended of the first Spiral of their three-Spiral Priestess Voyage in our Sisterhood of the Moon Tradition, and we could not be happier for these two amazing women.

Congratulations, Beloved Priestess-Sisters! What a blessing you are to us all! Long may you both thrive!

Ritual Tribute & Energy Exchange

Your Tribute supports your community and our ability to do this work on behalf of the collective. We cannot do this work without your support, Dear Ones!

An income-based sliding scale Tribute/Exchange of $40-$21 is due before each ritual gathering (Student/Elders: $20). Other gatherings may have different costs associated with them—please see our website for more information.

Bestowing your Tribute/Exchange is your sovereign responsibility and payment must be made in advance using the link provided in each Invitation. RSVPs are not accepted without Tribute registration.

If you are experiencing financial hardship and are in need of offering an Energy Exchange in lieu of a financial Tribute for ritual, please contact the ritual’s First Priestess to discuss your needs. Energy Exchange is offered only through advance discussion with the Priestess Council and is determined ritual-by-ritual based upon certain criteria.

Sisterhood of the Moon Tribute & Energy Exchange

These are our Sisterhood of the Moon boundaries for Tribute Energy Exchange.

We ask that you look into your heart with honesty about your current financial situation. If you are able to feed yourself and your family, put gas into your car, pay for housing, heat, and electricity and do any of the following, we ask that you make a monetary, income-based sliding scale Tribute in support of your community ($40-$21; Elders/Students: $20):

1. You are able to go out to eat monthly.
2. You are able to purchase recreational substances such as alcohol, cannabis, or cigarettes.
3. You are able to afford beauty and spa services, body work and other healing modalities, classes and other teachers, and/or tickets to concerts and sporting events.
4. You are able to afford body modifications, such as tattoos and piercings.
5. You are able to travel for pleasure.

If you still require our support after considering these points, please do speak with us.

It is our intention that all of our community members first offer our resources to where our hearts are. You, your community, and your Priestesses are worth it!

It is with the greatest of delight that I formally announce that on the evening of Friday, May 13th, under the Waxing Gibbous Moon in Libra and the Taurus Sun, Priestess Sabrina Moon was elevated to the highest honor in our lineage, crossing the sacred threshold into the vortex of the High Priestess and transforming into Lady Sabrina Moon.  

Lady Sabrina has been walking the Path of the Priestess in our Tradition since 2013, and her dedication, devotion, love, and innovation are some of our community’s greatest assets.  Long may she thrive!

It is my deep honor to announce that the application portal for our inaugural Sisterhood of the Moon Tradition of Witchcraft Priestess Training Voyage is now open!  Please read on for more details about this long-anticipated program.

About our Sisterhood of the Moon Tradition Priestess Voyage

This Priestess Voyage is ideal for:

• Women who desire to dive deeper into our Sisterhood of the Moon Tradition of Witchcraft.
• Women who want to create and lead their own Sisterhood of the Moon circles and/or communities.
• Women who desire to become public Priestesses in service to Goddess.
• Women who love to learn simply for the sake of learning and want more, more, more!

The pre-requisite for boarding our Crystal Ship is successful advance completion of The Women’s Mystery School of Magick & Empowerment, the foundational program of our Sisterhood of the Moon Tradition of Witchcraft. 
 
FAQ
Where does this take place?
This program is offered entirely online.  We meet in our Zoom Temple for lecture and ceremony (all circles are recorded for those who aren’t able to be present) and we deepen our practice with one another each week in our private Circle of Connection. 
 
How often do you meet?
Live circles are held once monthly on a weekday for 1-2 hours, Monday through Thursday.  The time of day is rotated to best include all Sisters in varying time zones.  (Note: Temple time is Pacific time.)
 
Our Temple rests from public service twice per year: Creatrix’s Month (July) and Winter Respite (from the day after Winter Solstice until Imbolc).  While assignments will still be given and work will still be due, there will be no live circles during July and January.
 
Although we ask that all Priestesses-in-Training do their best to be at every live gathering, we know that “life happens”.  Please plan to never miss multiple consecutive circles without advance communication.
 
Who is teaching this program?
Lady Jesamyn Angelica, Founder and Creatrix of Sisterhood of the Moon Tradition of Witchcraft, with wisdom and contributions from Priestess Sabrina Moon and other Elders, Priestesses, and Teachers.

How long is the Priestess Voyage?
In additional to our Orientation gathering, the Priestess Voyage continues for three Spirals, each Spiral consisting of 13 months (Gates).  There is a one-month integration break between Spiral 1 and Spiral 2, between Spiral 2 and Spiral 3, and between the conclusion of Spiral 3 and the Priestess Ordination Rite.
 
Can I sign up for just one Spiral?
While you can decide that this Path is not for you and exit the circle at any time, the Priestess Voyage is offered as only as a complete three-Spiral program.  Boarding the Crystal Ship affirms your intention to be with us for the entire journey.  It is imperative that you have time in your life for this sustained Voyage, or it is best to wait and apply when (if!) the next ship sails.
 
What kind of work can I expect to do each month?
Plan for juicy reading, writing, research, and ritual—and lots of it!
 
How often is moonplay due?
Because we are all travelling together, moonplay is due for everyone on the last day of every month.
 
How much time will this take per month?
This is subjective and is dependent on you.  That said, this program is the equivalent of studying for a master’s degree at university.  You are highly encouraged to create the space, time, and resources so that you can joyfully focus on this journey without stress or struggle, just as you would any other program of study embarked upon in adulthood. 
 
It is understood that you will most likely be working full-time in your “mundane” life alongside this journey. Since this is a rigorous and time-consuming program—and so that you can prioritize and give your full attention to our sacred work together—you have ideally cleared your schedule of other intense scholastic commitments and training program obligations for the duration of our Voyage together.
 
Time is one of the most important elements of learning to gracefully carry the mantle of a Priestess, a vocation which centers service and humility.
 
It is important to understand that “Priestess” is not just another title to add to one’s list of accomplishments and credentials—it is a way of living in this world, each and every day of our lives. 
 
How are training materials disseminated?
In addition to live monthly gatherings and access to the recordings of these sessions, a monthly pdf with information, rituals, projects, and assignments is shared within our Circle of Connection.  Some Gates will include supplemental support materials in the form of audio, video, and/or pdf files.
 
What is the Circle of Connection?
This is our private online circle where we witness, support, and encourage one another.  Here is a sacred space in which we discuss the monthly materials, work together on projects, and share what is happening in our lives. 
 
(The location of the Circle of Connection is yet to be determined; it will *not* be on Facebook.)
 
What happens at the end of the three Spirals?
Our Priestess Voyage culminates in your Ordination as a Sisterhood of the Moon Priestess and, if you so desire, Dianic Clergy. It is the objective of this Priestess Training Program that by the time you achieve Ordination, you will have cultivated the skills necessary to begin your own Sisterhood of the Moon circle and/or community, if this is your goal. 
 
What is the Tribute for this program, and how is it paid?
Tribute is offered on a sliding scale paid monthly via an automatic Paypal subscription, $250-$75 per month.  Those experiencing temporary financial hardship are welcome to contribute $50 per month.  If you are an Elder or BIPOC Sister and are in need of assistance in order to join us, please inquire directly.
 
Your Next Steps
1) If this Voyage is calling to you, Dear One, and you have successfully completed all of The Women’s Mystery School of Magick & Empowerment coursework, have walked through both Sisterhood of the Moon Witch Initiation rituals, and have received your certification marking this amazing accomplishment, please reply to this message and request an application to join us.
 
2) Please read Atomic Habits by James Clear and The Way of the Priestess: A Reclamation of Feminine Power and Divine Purpose by Sarah Coxon.  Although I do not agree with all of the assertions in these books, there are many ideas that are highly aligned with our Tradition’s philosophies and supportive of navigating both the blessings and the challenges of modern priestessing.
 
This application portal closes on the Full Moon in Libra, Saturday, April 16th, and we begin on Lunar Beltane—May 15th!
